Google I/O 2023 kicked off this week with a two-hour keynote that focused on AI, including the introduction of their generative AI chatbot called Google Bard. Although geographical availability was expanded for this tool, users in Europe still are unable to use it yet. Why Is Google Bard Not Available in the EU?
While Google Bard has expanded its geographical availability, it is yet to launch in Europe due to stringent data privacy regulations such as GDPR which may make complying difficult for Google. Furthermore, before releasing Bard in Europe it would need to address any logic capabilities problems it has already discovered within it.
How Can Users Access Google Bard?
If you reside in any of the 180 countries where Google Bard is offered, accessing it should not pose any difficulties. If based in Europe however, using a VPN should still allow access allowing you to take full advantage of all its features and use Google Bard as intended.
